BAYOU SORREL — The Bayou Sorrel Bridge will close to vehicle traffic starting tonight to allow marine traffic to pass.

According to officials, the closures will happen during two windows each day: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sheriff Brett Stassi assures residents that a deputy will be posted on the west side of the bayou during the closures.

Law enforcement and ambulance services will remain available 24 hours a day on both sides of the bridge.

For emergencies, residents can continue to dial 911.
