BATON ROUGE — The Walk to Remember is this weekend, raising both money and awareness for Alzheimer's treatment and prevention.
The walk, on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Louisiana Blue Campus, is hosted by Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area. The organization's executive director spoke with WBRZ's John Pastorek about the importance of increased awareness of the disease.
"We need to raise awareness so that people can get to early detection now. We have so many things we can do to help slow the disease down and reduce the risk of it developing," Barbara Auten said. "People need to be aware and not be afraid of that memory loss and get to their doctor."
