BATON ROUGE — Southern University is set to temporarily cut power to four residential buildings early Sept. 13 as part of ongoing repairs to the campus electrical distribution system, the school said in a statement Saturday night.
According to the university, equipment needed to continue the repairs has arrived and is scheduled to be installed that morning.
Power will be interrupted from approximately 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. at Bethune Hall, Grandison Hall, Reed Hall and White Hall.
Residents of those buildings are asked to plan for the outage and use caution while moving through the buildings during that time.
The university's Facilities Services team and electrical contractors are working to stabilize and strengthen the campus power system.
