METAIRIE- Two women have died following a car crash on the I-10 Service Road near Causeway Boulevard in Metairie.

The car crash occurred on Monday around 8 a.m.

According to traffic fatality investigator Anthony Cannatella, a Ford Mustang was involved in a hit-and-run accident on I-110 at the Causeway Blvd exit ramp. The car exited the interstate and went on the service road. Witnesses said that the car was traveling at a high speed.

The Mustang then struck a Volkswagon Jetta car that was trying to turn and it collided with the Mustang, causing it to turn over and slide into a pole.

The identities of the women who died following the crash have not been released at the time of this post.
