BATON ROUGE — Tuesday, a ribbon cutting marked the opening of the Post Trauma Institute on Justice Avenue.

The celebration went beyond the opening of a mental health treatment facility. National finance leaders with TruFund highlighted the role of community development dollars in expanding access to care.

The Baton Rouge event was the final stop on TruFund's tour connected to the Opportunity Finance Network conference. The annual gathering recognizes the importance of expanding economic opportunity with community development funds.

"Today I was most excited about having the honor to present some of our business partners and some of the impact investments Trufund has made in Baton Rouge and North Baton Rouge and giving those business owners an opportunity to share their impact story with investors that have come from all over the nation," Dr. Kim Arter Evans, pres. of TruFund Financial Services, said.

This year's Opportunity Finance Network conference is taking place right now in New Orleans.
