Recall petition for Gov. Jeff Landry fails, Secretary of State says
BATON ROUGE — A recall petition calling for Jeff Landry's removal as governor has failed to garner the required number of signatures, the Secretary of State's office says.
The petition, filed by Marian Hills in May, failed to meet the legal signature requirements by its Nov. 2 deadline.
In May, the Secretary of State's office says the petition had 180 days to gather handwritten signatures from 20% of voters across Louisiana, which is just under 600,000 people.
