Pedestrian killed after being struck by multiple vehicles
LOBDELL - A man died after being struck by multiple vehicles in West Baton Rouge Saturday evening.
State Police said Cai Zhenshenh of China was walking in the center turn lane of LA 415, north of I-10 in Lobdell, around 6 p.m. Saturday evening. For reasons unknown at this time, Zhenshenh walked into the path of a vehicle traveling northbound and was struck, according to police.
The impact threw Zhenshenh across the center turn lane into the southbound lane, police said. Zhenshenh landed in the path of another vehicle traveling southbound, and was struck in the left lane of LA 415, according to police.
Police said Zhenshenh sustained serious injuries from incident and was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
Zhenshenh later died from his injuries sustained during the crash, according to police.
Police said of both drivers involved were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the incident. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor but toxicology samples were taken from all three individuals.
