PLAQUEMINE — Parts of Railroad Avenue in Plaquemine are scheduled to close for milling and paving work in the coming week.

According to the traffic alert, the work is meant to improve road conditions and provide a smoother and safer driving surface. All work is weather permitting.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 12 through Nov. 19, the southbound side of Railroad Avenue on the City Hall and Courthouse side is scheduled to close.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 through Nov. 27, the northbound side is scheduled to close.

Iberville Parish Government encourages motorists to plan ahead, use alternate routes and use caution around construction crews. Updates will continue as the project progresses.
