BATON ROUGE - Emergency crews responded to a shooting that occurred within the 3800 block of Byrd Drive.

Witnesses reported hearing gun shots around 5:30 p.m., Sunday.

One person was shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and officials say the injured party was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
