Man in critical condition after officer-involved shooting in Tangipahoa Parish
LORANGER - Louisiana State Police is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a suspect hospitalized in Tangipahoa Parish Tuesday morning.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the shooting occurred around 10:30 a.m. after deputies responded to a residence on Lanier Creek Road in Loranger. According to LSP, the deputies were responding to reports of a suicidal individual at the time of the shooting.
Investigators say the individual emerged from the residence, brandishing a firearm, shortly after deputies arrived. The suspect was then shot and taken to an area hospital where he remains in stable but critical condition.
State police have now taken over the investigation.
