BATON ROUGE — Visit Baton Rouge is asking the Metro Council for a sales tax rebate for two events coming to LSU in the Spring. 

On Wednesday, the council will vote on a resolution approving the rebate of local sales and use taxes collected on the sale of admission tickets, concessions and parking for major events to be held in connection with the two unnamed events.

The first event will take place at the Alex Box Stadium on March 4, with the second event taking place at Tiger Stadium on March 6.

"Similar to last year's Tiger Stadium events, the promoters request no public announcement until details are in place," said Metro Council member Rowdy Gaudet. "Visit Baton Rouge intends to be at the Council meeting to present as much info as possible and provide details on the financial impact of last year's events."
