Man charged with attempted murder following Tuesday night shooting in Lafourche Parish
LAFOURCHE - Deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested a man following a Tuesday night shooting.
The incident was reported just before 8 p.m. on Cypress Court in Gray. According to authorities the suspect, 70-year-old Thomas Kennedy, admitted to the shooting.
Kennedy said he walked to a neighboring residence and confronted a 34-year-old man sitting in his vehicle. After a brief argument over the volume of the victim's music, Kennedy shot the man in the face.
The victim was airlifted to a New Orleans hospital for treatment. Authorities say the man was reported to be in stable condition.
While speaking with authorities, Kennedy allegedly said the victim made no attempt to harm him. Kennedy was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder. His bond is set at $1 million.
