BATON ROUGE — A former defensive lineman for Ole Miss and the New Orleans Saints committed to return to college football at LSU, according to a report by On3. 

Zxavian Harris played at Ole Miss under current LSU head coach Lane Kiffin and was signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent in the 2026 offseason. New Orleans waived him earlier this month.

Harris has been recovering from foot surgery in March and did not practice or play a snap for the Saints.

According to On3, Harris will head to Baton Rouge to continue playing for Kiffin.

He follows former Rebel and Cleveland Brown Dae'Quan Wright, who committed to LSU Monday morning under similar circumstances. 

Both were allowed to return to college football after a Louisiana judge issued a temporary restraining order against the NCAA on behalf of 33 student-athletes who graduated high school in 2022, granting them a fifth year of eligibility. Those players were not included in a recently established NCAA rule that allows athletes to play for five years.
