WALKER — The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is inviting area hunting enthusiasts with “buck fever” to sight-in their rifles and to have their new scopes mounted.

LPSO will be sighting in hunting rifles for the public by appointment from Sept. 17-19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the LPSO Training Center’s rifle range in Walker. Hunters are asked to schedule their appointment in advance for an instructor to zero their rifles.

Instructors will allow hunters to shoot their rifles up to three rounds after it has been zeroes, as time allows. Hunters must bring their own ammunition and hearing protection.

Instructors will be on hand to also help mount new scopes onto rifles.
