DONALDSONVILLE — Hyundai-POSCO Louisiana Steel announced nearly 40 new jobs at its Ascension Parish facility currently under construction.

Hyundai is looking to recruit employees from Donaldsonville, Modest, Ascension Parish and the Greater Baton Rouge Metropolitan region. HPLS plans to hire 1,300 roles for its Donaldsonville site between now and 2029.

The $5.8 billion steel mill broke ground on Sept. 4 and is expected to create 5,400 jobs.

HPLS is offering careers ranging from electrical, mechanical and civil engineering to construction, infrastructure, materials, resources management and other STEM careers, as well as many roles supporting the site, such as human resources, administration, learning and development, safety planning, occupational health, IT planning and governance and many more.

"Whether you bring 30 years of technical expertise or you’re just getting started in your career, we’d encourage you to apply, and if you don’t see the right fit listed today, upload your resume to our talent pool online to be alerted for future opportunities to join our team," Senior Manager of HR Chris Song said in a prepared statement.

Anyone interested in applying to work at Ascension's Hyundai facility is encouraged to submit their resume online.
