PIERRE PART — The driver of a box truck involved in a December crash that killed another driver in Assumption Parish has been arrested on negligent homicide charges.

According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office, 35-year-old Bryan Comeaux was driving along La. 70 in Pierre Part on Dec. 10, 2025, when he collided head-on with a pickup truck. The driver of the smaller truck, 43-year-old Blake Landry, was killed in the crash.

Comeaux was also hurt in the crash, sustaining serious injuries that he was treated for at an out-of-area hospital.

On Sept. 2, District Attorney Ricky Babin filed a bill of information, charging Comeaux with negligent homicide and failure to drive on the right side of the road.

An arrest warrant was then issued, with Assumption Parish deputies traveling to East Baton Rouge Parish on Tuesday to arrest Comeaux.

He was then transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and currently awaits a bond hearing.
