DOTD seeking public input to solve I-10 traffic nightmares
BATON ROUGE – A series of public meetings to discuss possible ways to solve traffic jams along the I-10 corridor in Baton Rouge start this week.
The first meeting starts Monday morning. The state Department of Transportation says the meetings will look at the section of I-10 between Essen Lane and LA 415 in Port Allen.
The specific stretch of highway frequently backs up whenever wrecks occur because it is the only high speed route across the Mississippi River and to New Orleans.
DOTD said they want to present new options to improve that stretch of highway and is seeking the public’s input.
