BATON ROUGE — LSU men's basketball has finished its trio of exhibition games with a 2-1 record, with the season officially starting next week with a matchup against LSU New Orleans.

The Tigers play the Privateers on Tuesday in the PMAC. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, news broke that RJ Luis Jr., a player who is currently not on LSU's roster, is temporarily eligible to play for the Tigers. The 2025 Big East Player of the Year has been at the center of an eligibility battle after going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft and signing contracts with the Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics. Luis never appeared in an NBA or G League regular-season game.

LSU men's basketball head coach Will Wade is expected to provide updates about the team's preparations for the season, as well as the status of Luis, at a news conference on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
