CENTRAL — During its Halloween Candy Buy Back event, Model Dentistry collected nearly 200 pounds of candy to send to veterans in military care packages.

Dr. Timothy Rayburn, a veteran himself, said that the buyback, which offered a dollar for each pound of candy, was done in collaboration with Sacramento-based veteran organization Troopathon. 

The event ran from Monday to Friday.
