BATON ROUGE — The Metro Council has approved a lease agreement that will move the Baton Rouge Police Department's District 2 precinct to the Masonic Building in downtown Baton Rouge.

The council authorized the mayor-president to sign a 10-year sublease with Precinct Funding, LLC for the first and second floors at 200 3rd St.

The deal is set at $500,000 plus operational costs and includes an option to renew for an additional 10 years.

District 2 will be relocating from its former station on Highland Road. The new downtown location puts it next door to Precinct 5.
