BRFD arrests man on arson charges after he allegedly lit pile of clothes on fire at Fairchild Street house
BATON ROUGE — A man was arrested after allegedly setting fire to clothes under a vacant home's carport.
According to Baton Rouge Fire officials, 46-year-old Lorenza McCutcheon set fire to a pile of clothes under the carport of a home along Fairchild Street on Tuesday. Investigators say that McCutcheon then went inside the home and threw more items into the fire.
He ran from the area when firefighters tried to approach him.
He was later found along Tanner Street and taken into custody. He was later booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on simple arson, resisting an officer and attempted battery of an officer charges.
