BATON ROUGE — A Baton Rouge murder suspect was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee, after a woman's dead body was discovered in the passenger seat of a vehicle, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department. 

According to the department, on Thursday, officers with the Memphis Police Department discovered 50-year-old Lanessa Bradford dead in the passenger seat while conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle. Officers said that Bradford had suffered from a gunshot wound. 

Detectives later learned that Bradford and the driver of the vehicle, 50-year-old Tyronne Brazille, were previously together at Independence Community Park on Independence Boulevard in Baton Rouge.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Brazille allegedly shot Bradford following a verbal disagreement and fled the area, driving through several states before being stopped in Memphis for a traffic violation.

Brazille was taken into custody in Memphis as a fugitive and is awaiting extradition to Baton Rouge, where he will face a murder charge in connection with Bradford's death.
