Assumption Parish man arrested following investigation into child sex crimes
BAYOU L'OURSE — An Assumption Parish man was arrested on Friday following an investigation into child sex crimes, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said that it received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that about 300 files of child sexual abuse material were uploaded to a Google account between October 2023 and July 2026.
During the investigation, detectives connected 36 of those files to an IP address in Bayou L'Ourse, leading to the discovery of 28-year-old Aroldo Paniagua Rocha as the owner of the illegal sexually explicit material.
On Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant where evidence led to Rocha's arrest for 36 counts of child sexual abuse material under the age of thirteen.
