BATON ROUGE — The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge announced the end of the River City Jazz Masters on Monday after 20 years.

The 20th anniversary season of River City Jazz Masters will mark the conclusion of the series as the Arts Council, along with the River City Jazz Coalition, works to open the final season featuring four concerts at the Manship Theatre.

For years, the Jazz Masters has been a cultural tradition presenting Grammy Award winners, NEA Jazz Masters, MacArthur Fellows and National Medal of Arts honorees.

Building on 20 years of experience, the Arts Council will move toward a new model honoring the legacy of the series by creating opportunities for new artists, venues, collaborations and experiences.

The following concerts will close out the final season of River City Jazz Masters:

- Alfredo Rodriguez Band featuring Pedrito Martinez on Oct. 7
- Wendell Brunious and The New Orleans Legends on Nov. 11
- The Tierney Sutton Band on Jan. 14
- Delfeayo Marsalis and The Uptown Jazz Orchestra on April 7
