PLAQUEMINE - Friends and family will gather this weekend to remember and lay to rest a young Plaquemine woman killed in a massive chain-reaction crash on I-55 on Monday.

Corinne Anna Hebert, 21, was among the 8 people who died when 168 vehicles smashed into each other in heavy fog near Manchac.

Her obituary notes that the 2020 graduate of St. John High School was enrolled at Aveda Institute in Hammond, where she was studying to be an esthetician.

Visitation will take place at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and will resume on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is to take place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11 a.m., celebrated by Father Jason Palermo.

Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Plaquemine.
