Officer transported to hospital following foot pursuit along North Sherwood Forest Drive

BATON ROUGE — Authorities responded to an injured officer near North Sherwood Forest Drive on Saturday morning.
The call went out around 8:50 a.m., with the incident occurring at the intersection of North Sherwood Forest Drive and Glenda Drive, when officers attempted to contact a suspect in a shooting investigation before the person fled on foot.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, while chasing the suspect, an officer stepped into a hole, seriously injuring both of his knees.
The officer was later transported to the hospital.
