LSU, Clemson QBs both making Tiger Stadium debut Saturday

BATON ROUGE - LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt and Clemson QB Christopher Vizzina have taken two very different paths through college football, despite the two signal callers being from the same 2023 recruiting class.
Leavitt, now ready to run Lane Kiffin's offense for his redshirt junior season at LSU, is at his third different school in his fourth year of college football. Vizzina enters his senior season as the week one starter for the first time after being the good soldier at Clemson, backing up Cade Klubnik for the last three seasons.
Differing route aside, the two players have something in common: neither of them has ever played a down at Tiger Stadium.
"I'm just going to really embrace the moment," said Leavitt of his impending Tiger Stadium debut. "You're not going to get many opportunities to play in Tiger Stadium at night on a gameday. It's going to be special."
While the Tigers have talented quarterbacks on the depth chart behind Leavitt, his spot at QB1 was never in question. Vizzina didn't have the same luck, even with Klubnik off to the NFL.
Freshman Tait Reynolds gave Vizzina a run. Even Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney noted how close the two were.
"It's been a lot of fun," said Swinney of the QB competition. "They've had a very detailed process on how they've gone through it. Every practice, every rep, every throw, everything has been graded to the nth degree, and (Vizzina's) just a little ahead. He's not a mile ahead, but he's ahead, and practice matters.
Vizzina has one collegiate start in his career, and he's never started a game on the road.
