HAMMOND — A Hammond Police officer arrested last month after at least two domestic violence incidents was booked again for violating a protective order associated with the previous arrest, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said.
Corey Bergeron, 28, was booked after officials said he was violating a protective order on Monday morning.
Bergeron was initially arrested Sept. 28 and booked on one count each of battery of a dating partner with strangulation and battery of a dating partner.
Bergeron is the son of current Hammond Police Chief Edwin Bergeron, who said during the initial arrest that all of the proper protocols were being followed during the sheriff's investigation.
