IBERVILLE PARISH — The Behavioral Health Division in Iberville Parish partnered with Capital Area Human Services to offer a free training session for residents on opioid overdose response.
The session, called Recognize, Respond, Reverse, taught participants basic skills for using Narcan to help save someone experiencing an opioid overdose.
Alicia Richbourg, prevention coordinator with Capital Area Human Services, said that Wednesday night's session gives her a chance to show someone hands-on how to administer Narcan.
"If you can educate one, that's a possibility to save one life," she said.
