NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Saints lost 24-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first preseason game.

The Black and Gold started strong when Ty Chandler returned the opening kick off 86 yards. It only took one play after that for Audric Estime to rush in the first touchdown.

The Saints found the endzone again in the second quarter when quarterback Zach Wilson connected with rookie tight end Oscar Delp for a touchdown.

The Saints defense also caught two interceptions in the first half and recorded four sacks and six tackles for loss.

The Saints had the ball on the final drive of the game and were able to get it down to the goal line with one second left, but Jaguars defensive back Jabbar Muhammad was able to break up the pass from quarterback Hunter Dekkers to seal the victory.

Quarterback Tyler Shough did not play in this game. Spencer Rattler got the start, followed by Wilson and Dekkers. Statistically, Wilson had the best performance by going 11-of-16 for 145 yards and a touchdown.

The Saints will play their next game in Los Angeles against the Rams at 3 p.m. on Aug. 22.
