GONZALES - The East Ascension Spartans started the season 1-0 after taking down visiting Warren Easton.
The Spartans had a 29-12 lead early in the second quarter. The defense would block a punt which led to another EA touchdown. Jeremyah Merriweather punched in the score that would put the Spartans ahead 36-12.
East Ascension got the victory 49-18.
