DENHAM SPRINGS — Audiences can follow the yellow brick road this weekend as Christian Youth Theater presents its stage production of the classic musical, "The Wizard of Oz."
The production follows Dorothy Gale and her dog, Toto, after a violent tornado sweeps them from Kansas into the Land of Oz. Dorothy teams up with three companions—the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion—each searching for a fundamental quality they believe they lack as they journey toward the Great Wizard.
The family-friendly production features timeless musical numbers, including "Over the Rainbow," "Follow the Yellow Brick Road," "If I Only Had a Brain" and "Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead."
Four performances are scheduled at Abundant Life Church in Denham Springs: Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Tickets and additional show details are available online at cytbatonrouge.org/shows.
