LASIK

One of the most exciting advances in vision correction history. Incorporating technology to create a success rate that spans the globe, the LASIK procedure has provided life-changing results for over 30 million people worldwide, and the Williamson Eye Center has brought this technology to the Baton Rouge area to provide the same success for our patients. Utilizing iDesign Refractive Studio, the iFS Femtosecond laser, and VISX Star S4-IR excimer laser, we can now have the skill that brings together the best technologies to grant thousands of people a life free of glasses and contact lenses. Our advanced technology allows us to provide vision correction options for patients with higher prescriptions and astigmatism like never before.

Often exceeding vision quality achieved with corrective lenses and glasses, LASIK goes to the source and solves visual struggles at the core. Preferred by patients, 3 to 1, LASIK has renowned results and achieves a level of comfort that is unmatched. In fact, all branches of the U.S. military and NASA recently allowed the treatment of LASIK for their servicemen and women, thanks to studies using LASIK technology.

The Williamson Eye Center is the trusted provider for LASIK in Baton Rouge and throughout Louisiana – professional athletes, local celebrities, and even other eye doctors trust their vision care to our practice.

What is Dysfunctional Lens Syndrome (i.e. Presbyopia)?

Presbyopia occurs when the natural lens of the eye loses flexibility, which typically occurs during middle age. This lens is responsible for focusing light on the retina and flexes to accommodate when near vision is needed. As we age, the natural lens loses its elasticity and becomes less flexible. When this happens, the lens is no longer able to accommodate for close range distance.

Presbyopia treatment usually begins with a pair of reading glasses. People with presbyopia generally reach for their reading glasses each time they need to read a text, look at a label or read their favorite book. However, this quickly becomes tiring and frustrating.

If you are experiencing presbyopia, and are interested in learning more about your vision options, contact us at Williamson Eye Center to schedule an appointment with us!

Have you noticed that as you age, you are beginning to struggle with your vision? Even if you have not yet developed cataracts, you may be having trouble focusing on objects up close such as the newspaper or a computer screen. Depending upon your particular lifestyle and current prescription, your surgeon may recommend Refractive Lens Exchange.

Have you been told you're not a LASIK candidate?

EVO ICL, also called an Implantable Collamer® Lens, is a refractive implant to correct common vision issues like myopia (nearsightedness) and astigmatism. Unlike some other vision correction options, the EVO ICL is an additive technology that corrects vision without the removal of any corneal tissue. The EVO ICL is meant to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contacts and unlike most permanent refractive solutions, EVO ICL is removable.

Dr. Charles was an FDA investigator for the Implantable Collamer Lens. Our surgeons have more experience with ICL than any other in the state and Williamson Eye Center is the only place in the State of Louisiana where patients can have an ICL procedure done. If you have been told your prescription is too high for LASIK, your corneas are too thin, or you are concerned about dry eye with other procedures, you may be an ideal candidate for the ICL procedure. Call 225-924-2020 for a free consultation to learn more about this procedure and to see if you are a candidate.
