AMITE — Lindon Bennett Magee of Loranger has been elected to the 21st Judicial District bench.

Magee was leading Jasper Brock by a nearly 3-1 margin with only a handful of precincts yet to report results in Livingston, St. Helena and Tangipahoa parishes. Unofficial results  showed her leading in all three parishes.

Magee will replace Brenda Bedsole Ricks, who is stepping down after 30 years.

Brock has been a lawyer in Livingston Parish for more than three decades. Magee is from Ponchatoula but now lives in Loranger.
