Typical August weather is on tap for the week ahead

7 years 7 months 5 days ago Tuesday, August 23 2016 Aug 23, 2016 August 23, 2016 8:02 AM August 23, 2016 in Weather

Your Tuesday will bring partly sunny skies with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible during the afternoon hours. Overall, only about 30 percent of the 13 Parish, 3 County forecast area will collect rain with the window for showers being open during the afternoon hours. High temperatures will top out in the low 90s. Overnight low temperatures will be in the mid 70s with partly cloudy skies. For the remainder of the week, a similar forecast is ahead with pop-up afternoon showers possible and unrelenting heat and humidity. There are three areas of interest in the tropics right now. Fiona is falling apart in the open Atlantic. Gaston is off the African Coast moving northwest, and Invest 99L is moving to the Lesser Antilles. We'll be keeping our eye on that one.
