CENTERVILLE — Deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office say they've found two people who went missing on Thursday.

The two were last seen on Oct. 1, with deputies finding a vehicle at the Cabot Boat Ramp.

Investigators learned that the shrimp boat became disabled at an unknown location, and they were using a dark-colored jet ski to reach the vessel in an attempt to tow it.

A coordinated search effort between the sheriff's office Marine Patrol, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries began on Saturday.

On Monday morning, a fisherman saw the pair on a platform in Lake Sand. The fisherman radioed the U.S. Coast Guard to report the information, with deputies in the area searching when they heard the radio traffic and responded to the location.

The pair were in the elements for the last few days, but were alive, deputies said.
