BATON ROUGE — This weekend is Scotlandville High School's homecoming, and Councilman Anthony Kenney's office is working with the school to bring together alumni, students, families and residents to celebrate the school's history, traditions and pride in the Scotlandville community.

The two-day celebration starts Friday with an alumni tailgate starting at 4 p.m. ahead of the homecoming game against Broadmoor High School that kicks off at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the second-annual Scotlandville High Homecoming Parade lines up at 11 a.m. at EBR Readiness Middle School and rolls at noon.

"Homecoming is more than a weekend of festivities. It's a celebration of the generations who have walked the halls of Scotlandville High and helped build the foundation of our community," Kenney said. "As a proud Scotlandville High graduate, this is a full-circle moment for me. I'm grateful to collaborate with Scotlandville Magnet High School and the One Scotlandville Foundation to bring our alumni, students, and community together. Our goal is to continue strengthening the traditions that make Scotlandville special while creating lasting memories for the next generation."

Kenney and Scotlandville High Principal Paul Jackson visited WBRZ on Wednesday to preview the festivities.
