Dangerous heat will continue for the 2nd half of the weekend as highs soar into the upper 90s, with humidity making that feel much worse. There will not be much relief from the skies given only spotty showers are expected.

Tonight & Tomorrow: The heat and humidity are not going anywhere! Overnight, skies will clear out, with lows reaching the upper 70s. Sunday will start off with plenty of sunshine, which will quickly drive temperatures into the 90s. By the the afternoon, we will reach our high in the upper 90s. Since humidity will be a factor, heat index values could get as high as 113°, especially near bodies of water. Because of these expected conditions, an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued area wide. If outside, slow down, and hydrate plenty! Showers, and a few storms will be possible, but most will stay dry. The best chance of seeing one of these showers will be closer to the coast.

Up Next: Not much change in the pattern is expected next week. Almost every day will feature highs in the upper 90s, high humidity, and only a handful of cooldown showers/storms. Heat alerts should occur on a daily basis, so keep drinking plenty of water! Highs will slightly scale back to the mid-90s by the end of the week. Showers and storms will occur on an isolated basis at that same time, but still, most should stay dry.

The continued mainly dry conditions will likely add up around the area. More moisture will leave plants/soil than is put back in. Abnormally dry conditions are already occurring, but it's possible we could enter stage one of drought by the end of the week. Just keep those sprinklers running and water those plants!

The Tropics: No tropical formation is expected over the next 7 days.
