NEW ROADS — A tree fell across False River Road in Pointe Coupee Parish on Thursday due to overnight and morning storms, resulting in the roadway being closed. 

The roadway was closed in both directions near Tres Bon Road starting around 6:05 a.m. 

Pointe Coupee Parish deputies said that, by 6:42 a.m., the roadway had reopened.
