BATON ROUGE — One person is dead following a fatal shooting on Byron Street on Saturday evening. 

The shooting occurred around 5:57 p.m. when officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department located 29-year-old Jaymirus Stewart suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. 

Officers said that no suspects or motive have been developed at this time. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
