Man dies in crash where motorcycle landed on top of him
NEW ROADS – A 66-year-old died in a motorcycle crash Monday evening, State Police revealed the next day.
Robert Mayeaux of Morganza died when he ran off the road and hit an embankment. The crash happened on LA 1 north of LA 420 between New Roads and Morganza.
Mayeaux was thrown off the motorcycle and as he and the bike became airborne, it crashed on top of him.
Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, State Police said.
