BATON ROUGE — LSU Police arrested a man accused of raping a woman at gunpoint in a campus residence hall.

Campus police received a report about the alleged rape on Friday around 11:15 p.m. The victim told police that her rapist, identified as 21-year-old Ronald White, was still in Spruce Hall following the incident.

According to the alleged victim, she was visiting a friend in Spruce Hall when a male acquaintance arrived with White. White, within five minutes, asked the alleged victim to go to a study room.

Once inside the study room, White produced a gun and proceeded to rape the woman at gunpoint.

Police add that the victim told them this was the first time she met White.

White, when approached by LSUPD officers, refused to comply and ran from Spruce Hall, continuing along West Chimes Street before hiding under a car near the intersection of West Chimes and Iowa streets.

White was eventually found to have seven grams of marijuana and was subsequently arrested.

White was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on first-degree rape, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and carrying a firearm on school property charges.

LSU Police also note that, in October 2024, White allegedly threatened to kill a Wendy's employee with a gun on LSU campus. This investigation was suspended due to the victim's lack of cooperation, police add.
