LSU launches inaugural Geaux Pre-Health Week with event highlighting FranU's physical therapy program
BATON ROUGE — LSU launched its inaugural Geaux Pre-Health Week on Monday with an interactive event highlighting Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
Geaux Pre-Health Week is a collaborative effort highlighting pre-healthcare initiatives across LSU's main campus, bringing together academic programs, healthcare organizations and professionals from across the state and country.
On Monday, students learned about FranU's DPT program through discussions about admissions criteria, the application process, along with faculty demonstrations of diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound. Faculty also showcased work in 3D printing for wheelchairs, assistive devices, splints and bracing and anatomical education models.
Throughout the week, students will have opportunities to learn about professions, connect with those working in the field, and experience healthcare through interactive events.
