PLAQUEMINE — A Louisiana fugitive arrested in Florida on multiple felony child exploitation charges was booked into the Iberville Parish Prison on Monday.

On Sept. 22, a collaborative law enforcement effort led to the location and arrest of 31-year-old Timothy Barnes of Forty Myers, Florida, according to the Cape Coral Police Department.

The operation began when a Cape Coral Police Department FBI Task Force Officer was contacted by the FBI New Orleans Field Office about the location of Barnes, who was actively wanted on an outstanding, full-extradition warrant out of Louisiana.

Officers later located Barnes at a retail location along Del Prado Boulevard South in Cape Coral.

He was arrested on several charges, including 27 counts of production of child sexual abuse material under the age of 13, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, and indecent behavior with juveniles.

Barnes appeared in the Iberville Parish jail roster on Monday.
