LIVINGSTON — The Livingston Parish Library will host an event this month where the public can discuss legal concerns with a licensed attorney at no cost.

The event, Lawyers in Libraries, will be held at the Livingston Parish Library Main Branch at 20390 Iowa Street on Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Attorneys will answer questions on a wide range of civil legal topics, including bankruptcy, civil lawsuits, collection matters, custody, divorce, evictions, FEMA and disaster benefits, food stamps and more. They will not handle any criminal matters.

Lawyers in Libraries is a statewide program that is held in partnership between the Louisiana State Bar Association, the State Library of Louisiana and the Louisiana Library Association.
