HAMMOND - One juvenile was taken into custody and a 19-year-old was taken to a hospital following a shooting in Hammond on Wednesday. 

The Hammond Police Department said the 19-year-old was shot on South Mooney Avenue and taken to a hospital, where they are in critical but stable condition. 

The alleged shooter was taken into custody and detained at the Florida Parishes Juvenile Justice District. They were booked for attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile and obstruction of justice. 

HPD said that the FBI's Gang Task Force assisted in the investigation.
