NEW ORLEANS- Organizers for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival announced the event will no longer take place in 2020.

Officials had previously announced in March the festival would be moved from April and May to the fall in an effort to avoid the coronavirus. But, after weeks of the virus rapidly spreading through Louisiana, it was announced Thursday the music festival would not occur in any form in 2020.

All tickets purchased for this year's event will be valid for the 2021 festival, but those looking to get a refund may do so. Ticketholders should receive an email explaining the refund process by April 22.

The Who, Foo Fighters, Stevie Nicks and Lizzo were among the acts headlining the 51st year of the festival at the New Orleans Fairgrounds.
