PLAQUEMINE — Iberville Parish brought in more than $81.8 million in total revenue, Iberville Parish President Chris Daigle said during a State of the Parish Address. 

Daigle, during Wednesday's Iberville Chamber of Commerce membership meeting, said that he wants to make "sure residents can see their tax dollars at work in their communities." 

"From infrastructure and public safety to recreation and economic development, we are investing in an Iberville that is stronger today and positioned for the future," Daigle continued.

The parish president said that he wants to continue local investments to keep sales tax dollars in the parish. He noted that capital projects represent 32.4% of parish spending, the largest share of parish expenditures. Public works projects represent 19.2%. 

Daigle said that several projects will continue to stimulate the local economy, highlighting the parish starting the Industrial Development Board process and completing its first prepaid natural gas agreement with Syngenta, which is projected to generate $2.5 million in revenue from 2027 through 2033.

Daigle said that the parish is also investing $2.9 million into the Bayou Manchac Culvert Replacement Project, the proposed Bayou Sorrel Pump Station and continued progress toward a new Mississippi River Bridge.

"We have accomplished a lot, but there is still work ahead," Daigle said. "By working together and continuing to invest in our communities, we can keep Iberville moving forward."
