House Speaker Mike Johnson re-elected to congressional seat
DERIDDER - House Speaker Mike Johnson will remain in congress after winning the election for Louisiana's Congressional District 4.
Johnson, a Republican, beat Republicans Mike Nichols and Gordon Heslop and Democrats Matt Gromlich and Conrad Cable.
Johnson has been representing constituents in northwest Louisiana since he took office in 2017. This will be his sixth term in office.
In September, Johnson closed the House early and sent lawmakers home to continue their campaigns for election season.
