BATON ROUGE — Cancer patients and their families can get free help with legal documents at an upcoming event at Baton Rouge General.

The Mission for Mark Initiative is set for June 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Baton Rouge General's entrance three, at 8585 Picardy Avenue.

Southeast Louisiana Legal Services will use an innovative new tool to help attendees with documents like a will, power of attorney or advance directive.

The event is supported by Baton Rouge General and Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, the Cancer Association of Louisiana, and Louisiana Blue, along with the Baton Rouge Bar Association, Lagniappe Law Lab, Legal Services Corporation and Louisiana Bar Foundation.

This is the third Mission for Mark event held at Baton Rouge General and the series will continue every quarter.

The event is free, but an appointment is required in advance. Those interested can contact Cindy Horne with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services at chorne@slls.org or 225-448-0080, ext. 302, to get more information or schedule an appointment.
